New Test for Checking Cancer Risk Smokers Exposed
Many factors that can make a person affected by cancer. One is the habit of smoking. Experts now develop an assay to determine whether a smoker's risk of lung cancer. Scientists have known that cells taken from the mouth and nose cancer susceptible people have different reactions when exposed to infrared light.
The results of such tests can be used to detect cancer and make a CT-Scan is more effective. If the cancer can be known from the beginning, the end result will be better treatment. When compared with other types of cancer, lung cancer therapeutic end result is lower. Only 10 percent of patients live up to 5 years from diagnosis. This is mainly due to the newly discovered disease in advanced stages.

With the newly developed test is expected to be detected anyone smokers who are at risk of suffering from cancer. Then the doctor can perform further tests with CT-Scan.
"Our vision for the future is a smoker can do this test in the general practitioner. Way too easy, take a swab sample from the mouth or nose and then for example be sent for analysis. The earlier lung cancer is detected, the better the results," said Sam Janes, researchers from University College London.
Patients who already have lung tumors will reveal abnormalities in all the cells in the lung, mouth, and nose. Signs of abnormality that can be seen quite clearly if the cell was irradiated. Cells will reflect light differently when compared with those who no cancer cells.
"Exposure to tobacco smoke can cause injury to the cells that will trigger lung cancer," he said.
Lung cancer can sleep in the body for 20 years before he triggered and become aggressive form. Initial genetic mutation can cause cancer is not detected until two decades. However, during this period there were several very distinctive gene abnormalities that appear in some areas of the tumor.
Cancer that continues to grow can cause some symptoms such as cough refractory, bloody cough, and shortness of breath.
